Описание: In this video showing the village style of cooking Jashulia or sticky/ glutinous rice,a most beloved khasi snack using a special kind of rice know as "khaw shulia/ khaw pnah", in rural Meghalaya,soak in water 10-12 hours. A unique gourd shell made from ripe, matured and dry balloon gourd, a bamboo sieve and a pot are used to cook the soaked rice in the fireplace. Cooked for 30-40 minutes and rice is scoop out into a 'lamet(Phrynium capitatum) which brings an appetizing aroma on the rice.Jashulia goes well with shasaw( red tea), dohjem (pork/chicken/beef innards), tungrymbai (fermented soybeans) and so on as per your liking.
