Watch as Mayor Karen Redman and Jack Buckskin discuss the revival of the Kaurna language and the importance of Gawler’s dual naming project in supporting reconciliation. In late 2023, Jack Buckskin, Director of Kuma Kaaru Cultural Services, teamed up with the Council to give Kaurna names to six of Gawler's key parks and reserves, along with the pocket park on Whitelaw Terrace. The new signage for these areas will be rolled out in stages, starting with updates to existing signs, followed by new installations in the near future.
