Product Info: Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters soon, and with it comes an entire empire of toys. Some are great. Some are terrible, and some, like this version of Poe Dameron's Boosted X-Wing, are just plain average.

In package, you can feel the averageness seeping out of the box. It's a rectangle, which will stack or stand easily, and it has an illustration of the Poe's X-Wing, as well as a photo of a kid holding the toy. He looks like he's smiling on command and the ship was later Photoshopped into his outstretched hand.

The back of the box let's you know that "To give ace pilot Poe Dameron an edge in combat, Resistance engineers have fitted a boosted accelerator pod onto the tail of his T-70 X-Wing. This gives him the extra speed he needs to outrun and outmaneuver the First Order." The unasked question here is why don't the engineers do this for every X-Wing?

When you open the box, you'll have to connect the laser canons to the ship's wings. It's relatively easy, but kids will likely need an adult's help. One thing to note, the canons don't snap into place and have a tendency to fly off.

This ship is at a smaller scale than the 3 3/4-inch line, and due to a lack of integration or additional features, it feels light on fun. It's also hollow, so it's also light on weight. This is at a lower price, and it shows, but you're better off saving your dollars for a better Star Wars ship.

This ship is intended for ages 4 and up, but they'll likely want to upgrade to the 3 3/4-inch line, which has the same age grading.
