While on patrol, an Alaska Wildlife Trooper was passed by a vehicle travelling 72 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. The Trooper turned around and stopped the vehicle. While talking to the driver, he smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and the trooper did not smell alcohol coming from her. The passenger showed signs of impairment and smelled of alcohol. The passenger had conditions of release from an ongoing DUI case earlier in the year that prohibited her from consuming alcohol. The Trooper used a PBT to determine if she had alcohol and she blew 0.299%. She was arrested for violating her conditions of release.
She plead guilty to her charges in both cases.
