Nearly 475 workers, mostly South Korean nationals, were arrested during a massive ICE-led raid at Hyundai's EV battery plant under construction in Ellabell, Georgia on September 4. The facility—part of a joint venture with LG Energy Solutions—is one of Hyundai’s largest U.S. investments and was expected to begin operations later this year.
"Operation Low Voltage", the largest single-site immigration enforcement in U.S. history, was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), targeting alleged unlawful employment practices. The operation involved over 400 agents and shut down all construction work at the site.
