While it would be easy to be polarized over what is happening with Sean Fuecht because of personal feelings about what and who he supports, there is something much larger being missed that EVERY CANADIAN should be aware of. Personal feelings aside, cities in provinces across our country are in stark violation of Article 176 of the Canadian Criminal Code. Not only are they in violation of the laws set in place to protect all of our religious freedoms, but they are now prosecuting and fining the citizens and religious organizations article 176 ensures protection of.

Article 176 of the Canadian Criminal Code protects religious freedom by prohibiting actions that obstruct or harm religious officials or disrupt religious services. Specifically, it makes it an offense to obstruct or prevent a clergyman from conducting religious services or performing other functions related to their calling, or to assault or arrest them under the pretense of civil process. It also protects against the willful disturbance of religious gatherings.

So no matter your stance on Sean Fuecht, the revoking of his permits to hold worship gatherings, the protection/agreement the governing bodies favour radical groups like ANTIFA with, and the prosecution of the churches who agree to host the worship gatherings in their buildings, is a violation of canadian criminal law, and is a REVELATION of where our government is at as we fall from lawful objectivity and into prejudice and unlawful persecution of the citizens and organizations our government was designed to protect.

This is not a call to fret or become anxious, not even a call to make a stand AGAINST the hypocrisy and lawlessness in any politically charged way. This IS an exhortation to the church in Canada to find strength in faith, to stand firm in the love of God who promised He would never leave us or forsake us, to love our enemies, and to pray for those who persecute us and spitefully use us. It is a call to follow in the pattern of Jesus Christ who prayed, "Father, forgive them, they know now what they do."

This world is not our home, and it will become increasingly obvious in the days ahead that it was never meant to be. Jesus called the devil, "the god of this world," and the bible refers to this lawlessness as, "the spirit of the world," saying that these things MUST TAKE PLACE, but to take heart because JESUS HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD.

While we witness the descent into lovelessness from those who claim to do what they do in the name of love, and hatred from those who claim to oppose hatred, we must be prepared to shine Christ’s love which was without hypocrisy, without partiality, and without blemish as the world reveales itself for what it really is: in rebellion against light, truth and love Himself, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
