In this video, I set out for big wild brown and rainbow trout in western Massachusetts with my friend and guide, Phil Nogee. This was winter fly fishing at its best, and although we didn't put up big numbers, the ones we got were big. I've fished with Phil for many years, and I have yet to find a guide who's as dialed as he is. I don't think that I got any fish smaller than 12 inches, which has been a rarity for me this winter. As a bonus, my dad also got into a few rainbows on his first fly-fishing trip in nearly four years!
