Solo mission out on Lake Couchiching and it turned into one of those unreal jumbo days.
I was ripping the sled, drilling holes, and scanning with Livescope when the screen suddenly loaded up. A full school of jumbo perch slid through, and I got to watch them react in real time. Seeing fish rise off bottom on Livescope, then confirming it on the underwater camera as they circled and committed… nothing beats that.
On top of jigging, I had a rattle wheel down — and it got smoked a couple times by jumbos cruising through. Watching the school on electronics while hearing that rattle wheel go off is next-level ice fishing.
No extra lines. No crowd. Just a solo grind, electronics dialed in, and a proper jumbo perch blitz under the ice.
