I recently finished my retro gaming setup to record and stream games from my PS1, N64, PS2 and Wii (all PAL consoles) and wanted to do a little test to see how the quality holds up.
Looking at the raw footage it almost looks like it's being emulated, but it's actually running from my PS1 model no. SCPH-9002 PAL. It was quite expensive to get this quality onto my capture card, but i think it was well worth it.
I'm using RGB SCART for all consoles except the N64, since it can't to RGB. The consoles' RGB SCART is connected to a SCART buffer with 1 input and 2 outputs so i can keep playing on my CRT via the 1st output and record/stream via the 2nd output. The 2nd output is also RGB SCART and connects to a RetroTINK RGB2COMP, which is then connected via component to a RetroTINK 2x-Pro and finally to my AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus GC513 to produce this near emulation image quality you see here.
Still need to figure out how to get rid of all the borders, since PAL being 288p/576i but no game supporting the extra resolution properly results in games having a border on the top and bottom. Not sure where the borders on the left and right are coming from though. Need to do something about it next time before hitting record.
Might do a little test with my Wii next.
