Of the 1.3 Million Indians who took part in the First World War, did you know that there were not only soldiers but also labourers? More than 8,00,000 soldiers and more than 5,00,000 laborers participated in the First World War. Indian troops in Somme were either a soldier of the Cavalry troops, a driver with the Infantry troops, or a laborer.
