Описание:
Roger Sayer plays J.S. Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor.
A Passacaglia is usually a fairly sombre work, written in triple metre, and formed of a number of continuous variations over a bass ostinato. BWV 582 is thought to have been composed quite early in Bach's career. It is one of his most important and best-known works, and comprises 20 variations, followed by a double fugue (the first half of the passacaglia ostinato is used as the first subject, and an altered version of the second half is used as the second subject).
