Описание: Stars of The Responder arrived at FACT tonight for a special celebratory screening.

The second season of the hit show arrived on BBC and iPlayer on Sunday to widespread critical acclaim. Martin Freeman has once again wowed fans as he reprised his role as Chris Carson for another five episodes of the gritty crime drama.

The 51-year-old has adopted a Scouse accent to play the troubled police officer and told the ECHO he was honoured to win the support of Liverpudlians. He said: "I was always very aware this could go either way because if you're in this city doing this part and they don't like then you'll know.

"The way this city has taken the show to its heart and what I'm doing to its heart has been really lovely. Liverpool has been very nice to the show but also nice to me as an outsider."

Martin was among the stars who turned out to the Wood Street cinema for Tuesday's event. He was joined by the show creator, Tony Schumacher, who has been bowled over by the critical response so far.

The 56-year-old writer said: "The last few days have been a blur, and looking through my social media has been an absolute delight. Thank you so much for the love you've shown this show. We all care so much about it and the city it was made in, so I'm glad I've not let you down."

Many stars of the show attended the event including Adelayo Adedayo, Adam Nagaitis, Emily Fairn, Faye McKeever and Philip S McGuinness. The ECHO was also in attendance at the red carpet to interview the cast and crew ahead of the celebratory screening.
