This tutorial is only for ADS(OBD1) interface with RS232 cable, NOT OBD2.
All needed resources can be found through Google but please make sure to use versions presented in the video otherwise it will not work.
This is a complete step-by-step install and setup tutorial for DIS GT1 diagnostic tool (BMW Diagnostic Software for older models like E30/E36/E34/etc).
Tested on E36 1991 M50 Non-Vanos engine, DME 3.1 (the one that can't be diagnosed with INPA).
Some parts of the video were sped-up or cut due to waiting times.
SSD install time: ~40 minutes, HDD install time: ~90-120 minutes
Warning: This tutorial does not work on all configurations, 2/5 different configs worked.
I recommend a PC with SSD from 2010-2011 with RS232 port or RS232 PCI Card, running Windows XP X86 and VmWare v5.5 with Ediabas v6.4.3.
Pro-tip: If this tutorial works, go to C: then My Documents then My Virtual Machines. You'll find your VM there. Save it on a 2nd PC or flash drive. If something happens and DIS doesn't work anymore you can just replace the VM with the one that worked and launch it manually from VMWare.
