Benahore is the ancestral name of the island known as "Palm Island". I composed this song in order to have something to sing to my ancestors, for some Awaras, for others Auritas, for others Benehaoritas or according to the current trend that tries to unite all the aborigines of all the islands in a single culture: Guanches. It is a song of memory towards the land and towards those who lost (or almost lost) their culture and their language, who were tried to send to the land of the legend or the myth. So much so that until recently it was believed that they never existed and that they were all old wives' tales, but only on the island of Benahore there are five thousand pre-Hispanic sites and that is only fifteen percent of the total. In the song I make reference to the different forces of nature in the aboriginal Guanche vision:
Atxí: son of
Benahoare: original name of the island of La Palma before the invasion.
Aridane, Tijuya, Tigalate, Hiscahuan, Garafía: places of the island that have preserved their ancestral name.
Idafe: Sacred place for the Awara people, a huge monolith that takes different shapes depending on how you look at it and that rises somewhere in the "Caldera de Taburiente".
Faican: It would be the equivalent to the one known as Brujo, Shaman, seer, or Horacle in other cultures.
Mencey: King
Arimaguadas: Priestesses or magicians.
Abora: Supreme god for the Awara.
Acoran: Divinity
Achaman: Divinity equivalent to Abora but in Tenerife.
Chaxiraxi: Feminine divinity associated to the sun.
