Norway was were the second wave of Black Metal took off. Heavily inspired by bands like Mercyful Fate, Hellhammer and Bathory Norwegian bands like Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor and Darkthrone established themselves and at the same time a lot of craziness was going on.
