Review Portion:
Beat Saber is one of my favorite games. It's simple but very fun; You slice blocks to the beat of music. So much so, that I don't think you can understand how much fun it is until you play it, and give it a try, which I recommend you find a way to do.

I've been stewing over some thoughts about Beat Saber for the last few years and as a veteran player, I feel my insights are interesting enough to share alongside my recommendation.

During my 5-years with it, there have been many changes to the game. But it has never received an update to its campaign mode. The pitiful selection of songs is from the first few available song packs, the difficulty caps out at Expert, and you're challenged in ways that I believe make you worse at the game. I say it's far more effective for you to learn by playing songs in Solo, and then challenging yourself to get good.

As a player develops while learning to play, I believe there are two styles. Slashing with big arm movements and slashing with small wrist movements. According to the game, there is a correct style. You'd have no idea, if you weren't playing at expert plus, and ultimately you can play the game however you want, But to beat every song at expert plus, you *must* use Flick Wrist style or have unprecedented levels of speed. This is because Many "MODERN" high difficulty songs have been designed around you primarily using wrist motions to slash high density patterns of blocks.

Personally, I've developed the groups of arm muscles required by the human body to endure arm swinging at expert plus because that's what felt natural to me. It may be considered the wrong way to play by hardcore players, and does lock me out of playing some songs, but I have fun regardless.

When you do play the game as "wrong" as I am, arm swinging on expert plus, you can shred 400 calories in just 30 minutes. I can easily burn over 10,000 calories in a month from Beat Saber. Arm swinging might objectively be the wrong way to play beat saber, but when you're burning calories, sweating, and losing weight all while having fun, I say that's an awesome trade.

I'm glad that I can play and recommend Beat Saber, which I consider to be a NameBrand product, NO MATTER HOW YOU PLAY IT. Out of every VR experience there is, I think the one I've had with this game over the years, has been one of the best experiences I've ever had with a game.

I recommend you try it through renting some VR equipment, or buying your own stuff second hand. When it comes to my journey, even across 3 separate digital copies and all the DLC I've ever purchased, Beat Saber still gets the Dolla an Hour guarantee. It's truly one of my favorite games of all time; and certainly my favorite game to play wrong.
