1. Until the fall of Ottoman Empire in 1922 (1919-1922 Turkish war of independence), the Islamic mind had some kind of self respect as a conquering faith right from the time of Mohammad. However, such respect was shattered after the last Sultanate was done and dusted. For some time, a sense of humiliation prevailed all across the Islamic nations.
But after the WWII, many of the Muslim majority nations gained independance and along with that came the power of Oil.
Oil rich Islamic nations began to influence the western universities, media houses and even political groups in the west in order to find an inside footing into these western nations that had for too long colonized the Islamic world.
2. Islamic money and migrants found their most powerfully ally in the west: the marxist intelligentia in the universities and secular media. The marxists and the homosexual activists fell in the Islamic trap and forged a powerful force combined to attack the traditional western faith and values. Christianity became the subject of mockery in the universities, media houses and entertainment industries while Islam enjoyed a protected status. One could mock any other religion but Islam.
3. After the Arab Spiring, millions of muslims were welcomed into the western nations. These new wave of migrants found that the western open societies, along with the protected Islamic status, were the fertile grounds to spread their faith. They not only started to preach their faith; they started to impose and at times practice open hostility toward the existing western values.
4. People like Trump saw the danger and began to take the threat seriously. As a result, the present US administration is the first western government that began to advocate their own culture and faith in opposition to the invading faith.
5. So, we must look at the Iran vs USA in this context.
