Victorian Workhorse! | Best of SE&CR O1 No 65 on the Bluebell Railway, 2025

Описание: Built by the South Eastern Railway in 1896 as an O class, No 65 was then absorbed into the merged SE&CR stock, being rebuilt into its current O1 form in 1908. After withdrawal from BR service, the engine eventually made its way to the Bluebell Railway in the 1990s, where it was restored to operational condition.
Since overhaul in 2017, the O1 is now coming towards the later years of its second preservation boiler ticket. As it has been used heavily since 2017, the locomotive is now starting to become worn out, and is therefore normally used on lighter and low-mileage diagrams, in many cases the Golden Arrow / Wealden Rambler dining trains. This is to preserve wear on the driving wheel tires, which are now approaching scrapping thickness. The engine will also enter the loco works at Sheffield Park in Winter 2025/2026 for maintenance aimed to prolong the engine's period of operation.
