The architecture of a former fuel depot in Monopoli (Italy) is explored through the immersive sound installation 'Pan Acoustic Field' (2022) in which the sound sculpture 'Panacousticon' (2019), a large satin aluminum dodecahedron loudspeaker, emits steady sound waves, thus evenly saturating the environment with acoustic vibrations. Visitors can thus explore the space by carefully listening to the micro-variations created by the reverberation of the room and looking for spots in the room where the sound thickens, creating sound beats. The installation also uses 12 large iron resonator pipes (whose sizes are related to the architecture of the room) that allow viewers to further discover the exhibition space by listening to the filtered sounds through them.
The sound sculpture 'Panacousticon' was made in technical partnership with Giovanardi Spa, Concorezzo, Italy.
