Route W9: Stagecoach London: 47983 (YJ60PFA) Optare Solo M880

Описание: Let's set Sunday off with another W-route, with some sudden Stagecoach saving Sullivan Solo sounds, as we get a bus brought in for emergency cover, we get Stagecoach's 47983 from W5 to W9.

YJ60PFA was new in 2011 to Hackney Community Transport, better known as CT Plus as OS9, the first of 8 8.8m Solos new to their Ash Grove (HK) garage for use on route W5, with the occasional appearance on the 309 & W12. 2016 saw the bus become 1747 when CT Plus renumbered all of their buses, it would later become 47983 upon Stagecoach purchasing CT Plus in August 2022. With the W5 converted to electric Switch MetroCities, the fleet of Solos have all been withdrawn, but given a small reprieve to run the emergency cover of route W9 following the sudden pullout of Sullivan Buses from all of their TFL work, as of September 2024, this bus has now been officially withdrawn.

Our journey today sees us on the winding weaving W9 which runs from Southgate Station to Chase Farm Hospital via Fox Lane, Winchmore Hill, Highlands Village, Grange Park, Enfield Town & Holtwhites Hill. The route is surprisingly old, dating from 1972, initially between Southgate & Enfield, 1982 saw it extend to Muswell Hill, but was cut back to Southgate in 1992 upon which it was extended to Chase Farm Hospital. Over the years the route has been run by London Transport, Eastern National, Thamesway, Sullivan Buses & is now back with Metroline for a second time. With an eclectic array of vehicles including Ford Transits, Bristol LH's, Bedford YMQs, Mercedes-Benz minibuses, Metroriders & many varieties of Darts.

47983 is powered by a Cummins ISBe engine coupled to a Allison 2100 automatic gearbox, so if we want some swift short-term Stagecoach Solo serenading, then please check this video out.
