Zola (2020): Everything Anora Wasn't

Описание: Amidst the Oscar Buzz surrounding Anora I couldn’t help but remember one of my favorite films, “Zola”. I wondered why that movie, with it’s fresh take on the stripper movie subgenre, the perfect balance of humor and drama, and an expert cast, did not get the same reaction as Anora. After some perusing on TikTok, I was happy to know I was not alone in thinking this. Frankly, it was frustrating to know that Zola never got it’s flowers and a movie that I think “reheated Zola’s nachos” was being touted as “movie of the year”. When I came across @itgirlkailyn ‘s video on TikTok, I knew I wanted to make video about Zola. If you take anything away from this video, I hope you are inspired to watch “Zola” which continues to be one of my favorite films that I think will forever change modern filmmaking.
