Quick Air Conditioner Fix: Dual Run Capacitor.

Описание: This is the second AC unit with this issue in two weeks.

This unit. AC Fan outside spinning. I checked the contactor when the thermostat commanded cool, 240 AC across the contactor. Both refrigerant lines coming out of the compressor were neither hot nor cold. Fan was running, compressor warm so it was getting power. The condenser coils were not warm. It is a heat pump, so the reversing vale was getting 25 VAC. Since the dual run capacitor is two capacitors in one, the fan still worked.

It was a 40/5 microfarad. I replaced it and everything is working great. Four screws, four wires. Turn off the power ! Not sure if I need to, but I wear rubber gloves handling capacitors.
