Prosecution adds murder charge for MP Lempurkel arrested in connection to Laikipia unrest

Laikipia North MP Matthew Lempurkel arrested in connection to the ongoing unrest in the region, is today spending the night a free man. Lempurkel was released on Ksh200,000 cash bail with a surety of a similar amount.
Lempurkel who was arrested on incitement charges appeared in a Nanyuki court today where the prosecution added an extra charge of murder. The legislator did not take plea and was released as police gather more evidence to support the murder charge.
