Prawn biriyani in small quantity
1 kg prawns ( 15 nos )
2 cups rice in 250 mL cup ( soak rice for 30 min)
Marinate prawns with salt , pepper , turmeric and little lime juice
Then in a pan add oil or ghee then half fry marinated prawns and keep aside
Then to the same oil add
2 cups onions , saute until transparent,then add
Crushed shallots 40 nos
Green chilies 6
Ginger
Garlic
Saute them with the onions ,
For biriyani masala
4 tbs fennel seeds
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Heat all the masala on low flame and powder to fine powder and sieve and keep aside
Add the masala to onions mix saute until rawness goes, then add 2 chopped tomatoes ( medium size )saute until mushy and add
Ground Malli Ela , Puthina ,broken nuts ,white kismiss 1 tbs curd
Then add prawns , cook for 2 minutes and add little lime juice if needed
You add more hot water if you want more gravy
For rice
Add ghee or oil to the biriyani pot and add spices ,then strain the rice and add to the pan and fry for 1 minutes then add 51/2 cup boiling water add salt and cook on low flame with lid covered, then transfer this to a plate , and then layer the biriyani as seen in the video
