In this video, we teambuild around Kyogre for the Regulation G format for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet VGC. Kyogre can do well - and has done well, but it needs to work harder than some of the other restricteds that we've already covered. It can be very aggressive and does have a spread move, but both of them are either reliant on HP or can miss whereas the Calyrexes has no drawbacks with their spread move. Still, you get weather control and can match up decently into Calyrex Ice Rider. The main things to be away of are Rillaboom & Raging Bolt as both have super effective priority moves against Kyogre. This is why you'll see partners like Tsareena & Farigiraf on Kyogre teams. Tornadus is an easy choice for tailwind support and 100% accurate bleakwind storms. From here, you can keep the aggression with Chien-Pao & Urshifu, cover for other matchups like Miraidon with Landorus-Incarnate, or go with a Fake Out screens and redirection build with Calm Mind. Multiple items are viable on Kyogre - it all depends on how the player wants to use the Kyogre.
