This is how we moved snow off this artificial turf football field.
Up against challenges, we are unable to use big heavy equipment on this, as the turf is on a bed of sand. Timing is critical on this and I make the facility director make the final call of when to do this...if we do it too early we risk another North Dakota March blizzard dropping 10" on it....do it too late and we risk making divots where the tires were.
We fabricated up some sleds out of old Arctic Sectional skids and UHMW plastic for the Pronovost Cyclone 80" blower so we wouldn't hurt the new artificial turf on the Mayville State football field.
Did some testing and everything seems good to go. We built this so its 2" off the turf, risking zero damage as its not cheap to fix any tears or seam rips.
Took us in total about 6 hours on site with the 4066R. Although some spots seem like there is only 4", the north side had 3-4ft drifts. The object here isn't to remove every last drop of snow, but to open it up to it melts faster. As soon as the sun hits the green spots it burns off and melts pretty quick. The field is also full of black rubber pellets so that helps melt all the snow.
