MUSIC FROM HEART SOUNDS OF 4 MUSICIANS 1
This composition was created by converting 4 individual musicians characteristic heart sounds into an equivalent music form. The main function of the composition/score is to serve as a template for each musician to freely create derivative pitch and rhythm changes and interpolate/extrapolate them with the preformed written notes in the score. The score is functioning as the inner composer/conductor within you waiting for your improvisational response. The instrumentation in the score was organized to simulate the four chambers of the heart. The heart sounds of the four musicians were organized into two groups, with each group representing the left and right sides of the heart. Data analysis determined that the right side (R Atrium and R Ventricle ) of the heart should be represented by the piano and the left side (L Atrium and L Ventricle) by the tenor saxophone.
