Topic: Similarity (Length, Area, and Volume Scale Factors)
Marks: 4 Marks
This high-level question involves three similar vases: R, S, and T. I demonstrate how to:
Use the volume relationship between R and S (72.8% more) to find the volume scale factor and, subsequently, the linear scale factor.
Relate the heights of R and T (h and 6h) to establish the linear scale factor between all three vases.
Apply the rule that the area scale factor is the square of the linear scale factor (k^2) to find the surface area relationship between S and T.
Solve for the final value of k to complete the problem.
