Welcome to this month's Causal Deck Profile, as we venture into the realm of Macro Cosmos. This Continuous Trap has seen play for years with a simple effect - any card that would be sent to the GY is banished instead. It also happens to Special Summon Helios - The Primordial Sun on activation, but it has been the bane of GY-based decks for generations. Now, we can access it even easier with the release of Chaos Distill. This Continuous Spell can tutor a copy of Macro Cosmos or any card that mentions it each turn, plus it also makes all of your cards that would be sent to the GY be banished instead! Typically, once you have your copy of Macro Cosmos, you'll use this to tutor Grand Convergence, a Quick-Play Spell that destroys all monsters on the field. This will be extremely frustrating for your opponent, especially if you're banishing your own Genro Ryu-Ge Hakva, which is just going to come right back whenever a monster is banished.

Speaking of banishing, that's where the rest of the deck comes in. Necroface ensures tons of cards are banished, the Nemeses monsters allow you to recycle select banished monsters, and then D.D. Post enters the fray to banish whatever gets inadvertently sent to your GY. If that isn't enough, I'm also using 3 copies of Soul Absorption - Gaining 500 LP for each banished card stacks up quite quickly, and can give you enough time to claw your way back from a bad situation. The last thing I'll highlight as my favorite tech in this deck is Mirror of the Ice Barrier - its effect has a lot of words, but in short, for the turn in which it is activated, when your opponent banishes one of your cards with a monster effect, you banish 2 of theirs. While Chaos Distill or Macro Cosmos on the field, any card will be banished, letting you turn the tables on any form of standard monster-based removal. Enjoy the banishment, with the help of a Macro Cosmos deck.
