Facilitating more informed design decisions that better suit human cohabitation, the science of neuroarchitecture is used to highlight the Headquarters of CIA Conad - an Italian retail brand that is a cooperative organisation of independent retail entrepreneurs. The office building places people at the centre of its design through facets of neuroarchitecture, including modulating building rhythms to suit human activity and maximising daylight, reflecting how the organisation also functions.
The building’s external facades do not conform to any stylistic or cultural recall, instead emerging as a bricolage of aluminium, wood and concrete that double up on the building’s functional aesthetics.
