the layout of the waiata whakapapa starts with a tauparapara which we commonly known as reciting the beginning of Tane, after a tauparapara generally a mihi follows which is the verses in the song, included in our mihi and our pepeha which gives a detailed description of we're we are from in our rohe and a reminder to our tamariki knowing there pepeha will keep them grounded to papatuanuku and form a understanding of taha maori, which we believe in now days society it is depleting amongst our rangatahi maori. We are promoting all four marae in our rohe which plays a huge part of our lives from cooking, dishies, korero, laughter, tears and tautoko creating core beliefs in hope that it creates forward thinking, postive vibrations and securing our tupuna values set before us not just as Ngati Tahu/Whaoa but for all maori.
follow by a moteatea written by our nanny makere (decease) for te iwi of ngati Tahu/Whaoa. this moteatea speaks for itself but we have modernized it to suit the frequency of or rangatahi so they can grasp it and also that this is the only Ngati Tahu/Whaoa moteatea as far as we know, hope this inspires every ear it reaches to remember that the lives we live now is a taught behavior so return to your roots and learn your WHAKAPAPA and share with those who are in need of it.
