An active shooter was reported at Villanova University in Pennsylvania on Thursday evening, according to police.
The Radnor Township Police Department said officers reported to the scene shortly after 5 p.m.
"All nearby residents and students are asked to SHELTER IN PLACE AT this time," police wrote on social media.
The college issued a warning on its website, urging everyone on campus to "move to a secure location." They also advised students and staff to lock or barricade all doors.

"Police continue to search area. Remain sheltered in place until further notice," the school added.
