We've already lost one pear tree in our small orchard to fireblight. Today my aim is to keep from losing another, and from spreading it to any more of our pear trees. Having identified where the fireblight is in the trunk, I think it will be possible to cut off all of the trunk that it has infected and then graft into the wounds in order to heal it.
