A shocking armed robbery has been reported from Umerkote in Nabarangpur district. Six miscreants allegedly broke into the house of Amulya Jena in Kochaniamba late at night by breaking open the door. The accused reportedly threatened the family with sharp weapons and looted ₹70 lakh in cash along with gold ornaments.
The victim had reportedly kept the money at home after selling land three months ago. Following the incident, a complaint has been lodged at the local police station, and an investigation is currently underway. The daring robbery has triggered panic in the area, raising concerns over law and order.
