Join us for an inspiring and insightful webinar exploring green building initiatives across Africa, as we spotlight the unique developments, challenges, and innovations shaping the sustainable built environment in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Namibia, and Botswana.

In this session, five expert speakers — each representing one of these countries — will share firsthand experiences from their local green building industry. From climate-responsive architecture and policy evolution to cutting-edge projects and community-driven design, this webinar offers a rich tapestry of how different African nations are forging their own paths toward a more sustainable future.

Speakers:
Nadine Krötz
Nadine is an architect with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Science in Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building from the Technical University of Munich. Since August 2023, she has been coordinating the Green Building Council of Namibia (GBCNA), where she supports efforts to promote sustainable building practices across the country. engages with local stakeholders, and contributes to shaping national dialogue on sustainability in the built environment. Her professional background includes several years of experience in architectural offices in Germany, where she worked on a range of projects from early design phases through to implementation.

Kagiso Sebetso
Kagiso is a distinguished Green Building and Sustainability Consultant with a profound commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the built environment. With more than 5 years of experience in the field, Kagiso has established herself as a leading expert in developing and implementing innovative solutions for building design, construction and operations.
Kagiso holds a Master’s degree in Property Studies, and an Honours Degree in Construction Management from the University of Cape Town. She is an Accredited Professional for New &; Existing buildings, Interiors and Net Zero with the Green Building Council of South Africa.
Kagiso became an EDGE Expert in 2020. Through invitation by the GBCI, an EDGE certifying body, Kagiso also became an EDGE Auditor.

Felix Holland
Felix Holland has lived and worked as an eco-architect in Uganda since 2004. After completing his architectural degree in Hamburg/Germany, he initially worked for a British architectural firm based in Kampala, before founding Studio FH Architects in 2013. Six years later, Studio FH became a co-founder of Localworks, a multidisciplinary design and build collaborative specialising in green construction. In addition to a wide range of award-winning projects in the social, educational, cultural and tourism sectors, Localworks is currently working intensively on EcoPrefab, a green prefab system for school buildings made of timber and lime render.

Cyril Nii Ayitey Tetteh
Cyril Nii Ayitey Tetteh is the founder of the Ghana Green Building Summit and a passionate advocate for sustainable development in Africa. A results-oriented marketer, communications expert, and PRINCE2-certified project manager, he brings deep expertise in branding, business development, and strategic growth. Cyril is a chartered banker and prolific writer with over 250 published articles and 100 TV appearances. He has played a key role in shaping green building policy, contributing to the IFC EDGE program review and the Ghana Building Code. He also runs a small charity supporting health and education for underprivileged children.
