why being likeable isn't the same as being loved

I for one am guilty of googling “how to be popular” or “how to make friends” and scouring YouTube for the fastest tips to be friends with everyone. It wasn’t until WAYYY too late in life that I realized that obsessively seeking this type of popularity and being “likeable” wasn’t leading to deep, meaningful, and lasting friendships. I so often found myself performing to be liked or accepted by another person or group. Even if I did end up being accepted, it was at the cost of my own personality and soul. I was robbing other people of the chance to get to know the TRUE me.

In this video I explain the difference between being likeable and being truly, unconditionally loved and known which is, whether we’re aware of it or not, what we all as humans crave.
