The Indian Cobra is a highly venomous snake whose venom is neurotoxic, meaning it directly affects the nervous system and breathing. An Indian Cobra is usually 4 to 6 feet long and can sometimes grow up to 7 feet. If it bites and venom enters the body, symptoms can begin within 10–30 minutes, including heaviness of the eyes, difficulty in speaking and swallowing, breathing problems, and gradual paralysis of the body. If treatment is not given in time, death can occur within 1 to 6 hours, mainly due to respiratory failure. Therefore, after an Indian Cobra bite, it is extremely important to go to the hospital immediately without wasting even a second, ideally within 30 minutes, because the only proper treatment is Anti-Snake Venom (ASV). Practices like faith healing, sucking out venom, or tying tight bandages can be even more dangerous and should never be done
