Kim and I spent a weekend in the coastal fishing town of Astoria, OR and had a chance to explore the southern section of the Washington State Coast and Cape Disappointment for the King Tides. Wow is the only way I can describe the huge waves that bounded this beautiful section of coast. It's a photographers dream as you will see from the number of them that get up before sunrise just to get a great spot to capture these huge waves crashing of the sea stacks.
We also got a chance to tour the beach towns of Astoria, OR and Long Beach, WA. Two very different towns but both offering something special that make them must stop locations on your next trip to the beautiful NW.
