Hooray, the Finnlight is back! With all the new model Sako 90`s hitting the market place and entering the hunting fields there was one glaring omission, the Finnlight. This had to be one of the most popular rifle configurations in the 75 and 85 models as its was just such a good affordable all-round lightweight stalking rifle that endeared itself to the British shooter.
Well its back and in its new 90 action styling and I have to say at a great price point of £1899.00 it is going to appeal to numerus stalkers that appreciate the out of the box accuracy and dependability that Sako rifles have always offered. Available as a right or left hooker, Sako and Tikka are known for catering for both persuasions which is why they are popular and also offer the Finnlight in a good range of calibres. In fact the 90 action is cartridge size specific and as such can handle .223 to 300 Win mag. Check GMK ltd for availability.
Its stainless steel action, bolt and barrel make the Finnlight very hunter friendly for people who really use their rifles and the Finnlight can be bought with two barrel lengths of 20 or 22 inches both having that characteristic fluted barrel lightweight profile.
The stock is particularly nice and it’s a composite material so more affordable than carbon fibre but as such a tad heavier, agreed but just as rugged in its green livery, faux leather grips and one handed operating cheekpiece making it super swift to alter the cheek weld and head position for correct sight use.
In a nut shell the new Sako 90 Finnlight is made from lightweight materials with built in durability and handles extremely well, I bet it will be Sako`s best selling 90 model. We had the 20 inch .308 Win model weighing in at 3.2 kg so lets delve a little deeper.
