The skull cap controversy has become of the biggest talking points in these elections. A day after BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi argued that he rejected the skull cap presented to him earlier because it's a symbol of appeasement. Asked about his refusal to wear a skull cap during his sadhbavna fast a couple of years ago, Modi said he followed his own tradition and respected the traditions of other. "I am against the policy of appeasement. I will never follow the symbols of appeasement. If someone plays with a Muslim's cap, I will not tolerate. There should be exemplary punishment."BJP president Rajnath Singh says in his view it is not appeasing anyoen. The Congress is quick to scoff at Modi, calls his statement irresponsible statement. And, BJP continues its polarisation charge against the Congress.
