HOW TO MAKE CHINESE BLACK BEAN GARLIC SAUCE

Black bean garlic sauce can be used to make a variety of popular Cantonese or Chinese dishes that you can get in a takeaway, eg/ 'Chicken in Black Bean' sauce or watch my next video "Steamed Salmon in Black Bean sauce". Home made black bean sauce is sooo... worth it because it has less sugar so it is healthier and there are more garlic & shallots added, making it more aromatic with more umami flavours. As a bonus, l have also added a red chilli so it has a slight kick to it.
Ingredients:
60mls cooking Vegetable oil
1 Tbsp finely chopped Ginger (about 2.5cm)
2 Tbsp finely chopped Garlic (about 3 large cloves)
5 Shallots, blended in food processor
1 large red Chilli, blended in food processor
80g fermented Black Bean, soaked & blended in food processor
1 stalk of Spring onion, chopped
Seasonings:
Few dashes of ground White Pepper
1/2 Tbsp Sesame oil
1 1/2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
1 Tbsp Sugar
60mls Water
Storage time: 1 month (in the fridge)
