The Kisima Awards launched in November and seek to celebrate the growth of the music and film industries in Africa while showcasing emerging talent. The Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) announced its partnership with Kisima Film Awards anchored on the commitment to create a facilitative environment where young creative minds could be nurtured and showcase their talents in film and music for job opportunities. Kisima Music and Film Awards had gone lull and got revived by new management led by its new Chairperson Dr. Fred Simiyu.
The award will seek to recognize talents from across the African continent which will go a long way in realizing the dream of giving Africa its own identity through film and music.The relaunch will further seek to see the entertainment industry back to its feet after the ravage of the dreadful Covid-19 pandemic.
