"Pow R. Toc H." is the fifth track on the UK version of the LP (which I have on CD) that started it all for Pink Floyd, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, released in 1967. It is
the band's first instrumental that appears on the album, although "Interstellar Overdrive," which appears as the first track on side two, was actually the first ever recorded. Written by all four band members, some vocal effects, such as beatboxing segments by Syd Barrett and screams by Roger Waters, are also heard in this eerie, dynamic keyboard-driven instrumental featuring Richard Wright. In some live sets, "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Pow R. Toc H." were blurred together.
