There is nothing like a camellia flower for sheer beauty! The flowers are exotic looking and gorgeous and really make an impact in your garden. Camellias like a moist but well drained acid soil in a sheltered position in partial shade. Due to their soil requirements I think they work really well in pots as you can control the soil PH. Use a good quality ericaceous compost when planting them in a pot and keep an eye on the watering as they don't like to dry out, especially in the summer when the buds for the following year are forming.
