Two-wheelers in India might soon get cheaper — but not for everyone.
The government is considering slashing GST from 28% to 18% 🚨 — but only for bikes under 350cc. Anything above that could actually face a 40% tax.
Royal Enfield’s Siddharth Lal has urged for a uniform 18% GST across all motorcycles, saying it would encourage riders to upgrade to bigger bikes and help India grow as a global middleweight hub.
Sounds familiar? It’s just like the sub-4m rule in cars — incentivising smaller engines over bigger ones.
