Master the 'Go to Bed' Cue

Описание: Teach Your Dog 'Go to Bed' Step-by-Step
Want a reliable way to teach your dog to settle on their bed? In this video, learn a simple, step-by-step approach to teaching the 'Go to Bed' cue, including troubleshooting tips and how to add verbal cues and hand signals for lasting results.

What You Need:
✔️ A towel or blanket bigger than your dog
✔️ A dog bed
✔️ Treats or kibble
✔️ Your dog
✔️ 5 mins/per session

Training Steps:

🔹Step #1: Foundation
Practice downs on the towel. Praise and reward by placing treats or pieces of kibble on the blanket. Cue your dog off the blanket before they leave the blanket. Say 'Off', then toss a small, low-value treat on the floor. Gradually, fade out the treat. Once your dog reliably walks back on the blanket, they are ready for step #2.

🔹 Step #2
Fold the blanket and place it on the dog bed. Wait for your dog to get on the blanket/bed, praise, and reward.

Troubleshooting
If your dog doesn’t step on the blanket/bed, use a treat to lure your dog on the blanket or go back to step #1. Adding verbal cues and hand signals If you cue your dog off the bed, and they quickly go back to the bed, several times in a row, they are ready for the verbal ‘Go to Bed’ cue. Say it right before they move toward the bed. You can add the hand signal- point at the bed, 1-2 seconds after saying 'Go to Bed.'

Stay
Reward the dog frequently enough so they say on the dog bed longer. By cueing the dog off the dog bed before they leave, you are teaching them to stay on the bed until released, a built-in Stay.

🔹 Step #3
Fold the blanket even more and finally, remove it (optional).
