Respectability Politics and Tone Policing

Описание: 😍💡😍 Today’s video explores respectability politics, tone policing, and holding space for anger. We’ll consider how normativity is the basis for respectability politics and how norms are always violent, and always privilege those with the most social power.

🌺🌼🌺 In this video, we’ll try to learn to listen to the substance of what people are saying regardless of the tone in which it is said. We’ll consider harmful stereotypes regarding anger, namely the “angry Black womxn.” And we’ll conclude this video with a meditative phrase that you can use to help you become less defensive and more open to what anger has to teach you.
