Welcome to the third vlog in my Japan travel video series! Read below for all the hotel and restaurant recommendations in Kyoto. In this video, we travel from Osaka to Kyoto on a very fast 15-minute Shinkansen train, drop our bags off at our hotel (Renka-no-Yu On-Yado NONO Kyoto Shichijo) and rented electric bikes from a local shop (Bicycle rental Raku-chari Nanajo).
Then we set off to explore! We went to the Golden Pavillion (Kinkaku-ji) and stopped off for very tasty ramen at 桃源郷(Utopia), 12 Kinugasa Goshonouchicho, close to the entrance of the pavillion.
Next, we cycled to Imamiya Shrine and had mochi at the 1,000 year-old sweet shop called Kazariya. I wouldn't miss that! Such a cool experience. We headed back to the hotel and then went to a place called Kurakura for dinner nearby.
The following morning, we got up early and went to the Fushimi Inari Taisha, and then the Kiyomizu-dera temple on our bikes. I rented a kimono in Gion, and then the heavens absolutely opened - it was a proper downpour - so I got changed and we got soaked on the way back to our hotel.
For dinner, we got a taxi out to Torikizoku (B1F, 104-1 Tachiuri Nakanocho, Shimogyo Ward) which was sooo tasty and amazingly cheap. A great evening!
Our next stop is the Japanese Alps in Shibu Onsen, so please subscribe and come along for the rest of the trip! Here is my Hakone video if you haven't seen it already: • Travel day to Japan and Mount Fuji in Hako...
