London Northwestern Railway Class 230 D-Train Ride: Bletchley to Bedford - 25/04/19

Описание: Video: Riding the full service up the Marston Vale Line from Bletchley to Bedford onboard a London Northwestern Railway Class 230 D-Train (230004). With this being my first ride on the newly-upcycled unit this includes a tour of the interior, a look at the modifications on what was originally in the standard Underground transverse layout on the District Line D78 Stock, the new plug sockets as well as the new PRM compliant toilet.
It still sounds like a D Stock when picking up speed and slowing down, however its startup sequence is very different with the Ford engines and AC traction equipment giving off a kind of 'hybrid bus' sound on departure.
Overall a good ride on the 230, Vivarail have certainly done a great job, my only criticisms are some of the seats being the similar type of hard seats found on the Renatus 321s, however because the route is short its not much of an issue (and from where I sat the 230 seems to have better legroom than its predecessors).
