Ruby Ghost Town - The BEST Ghost Town in Arizona

Описание: At the end of some of the roughest roads can be some of the most memorable places to set sights on. Places seldom touched by the masses which makes them even more special. They seem to be in the most remote locations even by todays standards. That sounds like the perfect place for us.
Ruby Ghost Town is a sight to behold, especially after the drive in. It is, in some sections, one of the roughest 14 mile roads we have taken Tonto on. He loved every minute of it and ate it up with ease.
Upon reaching the locked front gate, we were pleased to be able to get out and and let our tense shoulders relax for a few moments while we entered the code.
To enter these premises though, you need to contact them first to get a permit and code to get in the gate. After that make your way to the caretakers cabin to pay your entry fee and have at it. Find a good neutral place to park because there is plenty of walking.
Ruby is different from other ghost towns because you are allowed to go into most of the buildings to get an up close view. Inside the schoolhouse for instance items are on display for you to get a real hands on experience.
There were some incredible surprises for us while we went out exploring. We even found what remains of the cemetery out past the massive tailings pile that look like an inland beach.
This is a must visit, and you can even camp out on the grounds with your reservation, what a bonus!
